Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Kasese District, YAGANET, the Young Agro-Green Africa Network, is a Ugandan non-profit dedicated to empowering frontline communities, particularly youth, women and smallholder farmers, to become stewards of their environment and architects of their own prosperous futures.

If communities are equipped with knowledge, resources and voice (CJA), and if youth and women are empowered with market-aligned skills and entrepreneurial mindsets (MGID),
then they drive a virtuous cycle of environmental restoration, economic security and social equity ,
because they possess the skills, assets, systems and voice to anticipate, withstand and recover from climatic shocks while shaping their own local economies.

Founded in Kasese
YAGANET is established as a community-based non-profit responding to environmental and economic shocks in western Uganda.
2019
First Eco-Volunteer networks
Youth and women mobilized across parishes as permanent community structures for environmental monitoring and agroforestry.

Women & PWD inclusion
300+ vulnerable women and persons with disabilities enrolled in financial literacy and enterprise pathways.
2023
Green skills at scale
20,000 young people trained through market-aligned MGID curricula, 70% practical, 30% theory.

One million trees
Community-led restoration across 12 sub-counties, seeded through Climate-Smart Farmer Field Schools.
